There are some products that mean so much more when you know how they were made.

Take these bangles designed by Stephanie Huffaker founder of Garbage of Eden. Each bangle is made using plastic bags, meticulously wrapped around a thin brass circle (inner-diameter of 2 1/2"). Since each bracelet is made from a particular plastic bag each carries a unique story.

The Blue bangles are made from New York Times newspaper bags.
The Light Green bangles are made from EcoHippo plastic bags.
The Black from New York Delis and Bodegas.

As cities are slowly realizing the impact of plastic bags floating around our planet and landfills it is amazing to see them upcycled into such a beautiful form.

They look and feel great, and are a constant conversation starter. Each bangle is handmade, but after a few weeks of wearing it - you will see, these bangles are practically indestructible!

We are proud to support a local NYC designer, her amazing creativity, and beautiful recycled products.
